As 2018 draws to a close, I would like to thank you for your continued interest in Australia-Japan business – it’s certainly been a year of heightened engagement.
And there’s to be no respite; as we look forward to the new year, the tourism sector will benefit from the Rugby World Cup in Japan – a warm-up for the Olympics and Paralympics in 2020. Business leaders will convene for the B-20 in Tokyo under the theme of Society 5.0 and Sustainable Development Goals in March, more on Japan’s Society 5.0 here). But Osaka will be prominent in our focus as world leaders will gather in the city come June for the first G20 meeting in Japan. Our 57th Joint Business Conference will follow in October, and you’ve no doubt heard of the city being selected for the return of the World Expo in 2025. Exciting times for Kansai.
