Our 56th Joint Business Conference in October recorded attendance by over 450 senior executives from both Australia and Japan; the highest number of participants to date, and a reflection of the broadening bilateral business relationship and increase in Japanese M&A in Australia.
The meeting’s theme, ‘Taking the Long View,’ was especially relevant – with the plenary session tackling issues such as energy security, financing of the major uptick in infrastructure projects, and nurturing of start-ups from ‘early seeds’ to solid platforms for ongoing corporate growth.
Additional sessions looked at aspects which bind the businesses of the two countries together, like the AJBCC / JABCC Future Leaders group’s roundtable on ‘Shared Value’ – how corporates can engage in business which is not only profitable but contributes to the benefit of the society.
The 57th Joint Business Conference will be held in Osaka from Monday to Wednesday 7–9 October 2019.
