Austrade will host its first visit of Australian fintech start-ups to Japan, with six companies in Tokyo 23–26 October 2018. The tour will include briefings on Japanese government incentives, pitch opportunities to investors, and a B2B conference. With cities around the globe establishing start-up hubs and incubators, the growing connection between Australian companies and their Japanese counterparts is interesting. ASIC and the Japanese Financial Services Agency (FSA) have already established an MOU to address regulatory requirements that might impede the development of products in both countries.
