Austrade signed an MoU with Mizuho Bank in which Austrade undertakes to work with Mizuho Bank to support their Japanese clients exploring investment opportunities in Australia. Earlier this year, Austrade and Mizuho Bank jointly hosted a seminar for over 100 of Mizuho Bank’s clients where they were able to hear about current areas of opportunity in the Australian market, the impact of JAEPA and case studies from existing Japanese investors in Australia. This first Australian investment information session has helped identify those areas Mizuho Bank’s clients find most promising ..in Australia.
Areas which have seen Japanese interest through this collaboration include potential projects in:
- Agribusiness
- Northern Australia development
- Residential construction
