The AJBCC and JABCC have been instrumental in providing a platform for Australia-Japan business connections at the highest levels. Sir Rod Eddington AO, President of the AJBCC has been awarded the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun by the Government of Japan. Sir Rod was one of 89 foreign nationals to be recognised and this award was given for his “contribution to strengthening the economic relations between Japan and Australia”. The JABCC’s Vice Chairman Yorihiko Kojima (and Chairman of Mitsubishi Corporation) was awarded an Order of Australia, (Honorary Companion: AC) for his “eminent service to advancing Australia-Japan bilateral trade and economic relations”.
